About Emily

I have been making beaded jewelry in my spare time since 2004, selling most of it to friends at work for special occasions! People frequently tell me that I should get a website, and I’ve always wanted to, but I could never come up with a clever name for my business.

Then, in May of 2007, my daughter Emma was born! I continued to get orders for jewelry, and found that my “spare” time was much more limited than it had been before she entered my life! I found myself staying up into the late hours of the evening just to complete orders . . . praying that my sweet Emma wouldn’t wake up AGAIN . . . ’cause I was “on a roll”!

In December of 2007, my good friends really got on me about making my business official and launching a website.  A few nights later after putting Emma to bed, the perfect name just popped into my head…”Nap Time Designs”!

We took the picture of Emma’s eyelash while she slept in the shade; she was about 3 months old! I think it is an amazing picture, and it captures the idea behind Nap Time Designs in an artful way.
